Ebdane said that he directed DPWH Undersecretary Rafael Yabut, in-charge of Bicol Region Operations to oversee the deployment of the disaster prepared team since the Philippine Institute of Vulcanology and Seismology has already raised the alert level 1 (abnormal) to alert level 2 (alarming) last July 10, 2009.

Meanwhile, DPWH Region V Director Orlando Roces said that in coordination with the Regional Disaster Coordinating Council and the Provincial Government of Albay they have also identified vehicular alternate routes and evacuation plan in case of volcanic eruption..
" To assure the continuous flow of traffic, we also have available bailey panel bridge components that can be immediately deployed and assembled in case a bridge will be damaged by flow of volcanic debris along river channels" Roces added.
